IMMERSION CONTAINER, THE SOLUTION TO EXTINGUISH ELECTRIC CARS
Electric cars have become an integral part of our society. In the coming years, the number of electric vehicles on the road will only increase. So in the future, electric cars will increasingly burn and it is not obvious for firefighters to put them out. If the battery is damaged, there is a chance that it will overheat or even ignite, resulting in the possibility of a flash fire or explosion.
Demunster recently purchased a new immersion container to immerse the vehicle in a container of water until the battery has cooled down (at least 48 hours). In addition, we are equipped with our depot service to tow the car after the accident.
The water will be taken to a specialised processing plant as chemicals and battery acid were released from the fire.
This method allows the fire brigade to do its job safely and more easily.
To prepare for this, the Zwevegem fire brigade came by for a container exercise last week. It was an instructive afternoon for them, but also for us!
